Mire is happy to present the selected artist duo for its first SPECTRAL Wandering Residency : Ana Edwards & Francisco Rodríguez Teare !
From June 10th to July 7th, the two residents will invest Lolab‘s space and the Nantes neighbourhood of Breil-Malville with a wandering performance project exploring the construction of emotional cartography through the production of a trichromatic film.
Ana Edwards is a chilean artist and filmmaker. Combining ethnographic process and the sensory and evocative powers of audiovisual media, her work explores a diversity of ecologies and ways of inhabiting the world. Her interest lies in the transformation of the notions of nature and culture and how they mutually shape each other in symbolic and material ways.
Francisco Rodriguez Teare is a chilean artist and filmmaker based in France with a moving image practice, working primarily with film, video and installation. His work explores the flux of power within fluid territories and global networks, the opacity of violence, the trace of the dead in the world of the living, oral traditions and their intersection with personal memory and popular myths. Oral language, the absence of meaning and humour as tools to endure pain.
