Prisme #3

Argentique du futur
In another dimension, PRISME #3 – Argentique du futur – should have taken place between the 3rd and 10th of december 2020.
The sanitary context and governmental policies decided otherwise.
This program will be distilled throughout the year 2021 but, in the meantime, here is PRISME #3 as it was imagined by the Mireteam.

FROM DECEMBER 4th to WEDNESDAY 9th of DECEMBER
LE LIEU UNIQUE – 3PM to 7PM – Closed on monday ! – Free entry

EXHIBITION « LA VIE SILENCIEUSE DES CHOSES »
With Leah Desmousseaux, Maël Le Golvan, Peter Miller, Ludovic Sauvage, Sarah Vanagh

La vie silencieuse des choses offers an ensemble of pieces linked by the idea of carrying those who observe them through new sensory and speculatory territories. In a modest attempt at decentralization, the exhibition suggests to extract oneself from noxious anthropocentrism by offering a different viewpoint on the different states of being and non-human entities and by questioning what we see and perceive. By modifications of scale, scanning the unperceivable, the infinitely small or the motionless, the artists uncover images and sensations born out of the unexpected encounter between subject and medium. Photograms, 16 mm film,  cyanotype, slides, photo-impression… All these techniques explore the plurality of photochemical processes and allow to question the ways in which images appear and what they tell us about our being in the world.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3rd
EXHIBIT OPENING + CONCERT
LE LIEU UNIQUE – 6:30 PM – Free entry
Opening of « La vie silencieuse des choses » – Exhibit
Thomas Tilly : on site recording and electronic – 40′ – 19h30

“It is not about capturing sound, but placing the microphone on the same level as the music instrument and considering its situation in space as a composing method. It is about repurposing its role as a communication tool to modify our grasp on sound wave treatment. Tackling an immaterial crossing all that constitutes and conditions the material, comitting to talking about and using noise as something precious and unique, confronting that noise to what we call music.” – Thomas Tilly

IMAGE BOMBING
9PM Start in front of LE LIEU UNIQUE – Free
Micro-performances, sonic and visual, all along an urban and nocturnal promenade. An echo to Noise Bombing as it is practiced in Indonesia, on-the-run concerts, inspired by spray-canned graffiti.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 4th
LABORATORY AIM DENSITY SCREENINGS
LE CINÉMATOGRAPHE – 3/3,5/5€
This third edition will allow us, once again, to roam through the multifaceted space of contemporary analog creative practice. This territory invites us to position the movie screen as scenery. In constant movement, never exactly the same depending on the light and shadow fluctuations, the passing wind, the time of day, a particular detail we could explore.

This screen-territory is now not only a support to narratives and endless dialogue but also a setting to sensation, rythm, metric, observation, faces, colors, sparkle; as if the screen wished to exit the theater and land in the middle of the scenery to capture directly its infinitesimal vibrations.

This territory can also reveal itself as a mirror to the particular labor of the development lab. Like a map on which the secret operations of this obscure place leaves an imprint. To expose, reproduce, deform, repeat, multiply, duplicate. Forever and always scanning these lines, shapes, textures, tints and contrasts.

Come explore through these two program the map and the scenery of this screen-territory.

* L.A.D (Laboratory Aim Density) is a reference film band from Kodak allowing the control of copies.
