This past may, two members of the Mire team went to Toronto to attend the film labs gathering organized this year by LIFT under the title of Analogue Resilience.
During the gathering, Mire took part in the panel discussion Analogue Film Festivals & The Future of Projection which focused on the different problems surrounding film projection and solutions that could be found in order to promote and sustain projection on film. This was an opportunity for Mire to share its experience organizing the analogue film festival PRISME for the past six years and for the different panel participants to share their specific points of view on the question (coming from archive centers, universities, museums, movie theaters, independent labs, artist collectives, film festivals, etc.) in order to bridge the gaps between these different poles and geographies of film preservation.
